The first release of the new Pirates of the Caribbean™ Series is dedicated to the pirate ship Black Pearl™ from the 2003 Disney™ hit Pirates of the Caribbean™. Struck by the New Zealand Mint from one ounce of 99.9% silver, the motive of the premium bullion coin features an image of the ship and a stylized depiction of the pirate Jack Sparrow™. The inscriptions "THE BLACK PEARL", "PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN", "1 oz 999 Fine Silver" and the Disney™ logo and copyright are also included in the design. The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions "TWO DOLLARS," "ELIZABETH II," "2021" and "NIUE." The legendary pirat Jack Sparrow™ is embodied in the film by Johnny Depp. With his very eccentric, witty and somewhat oddball manner, the pirate quickly became an audience favorite. The Black Pearl™, which is considered the fastest ship in the entire Caribbean, once belonged to Jack Sparrow™ - until Barbossa™ took over the ship after a mutiny.
