Mirror Tiger is the seventh coin in the Mirror Lunar series from Tokelau, which started with the Year of the Monkey in 2016. This was followed by the Year of the Rooster, Year of the Dog, Year of the Pig, Year of the Rat and Year of the Ox. This edition celebrates the Year of the Tiger, which starts on February 1st, 2022. The coin was struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver in proof quality and has a remarkable diameter of 65 mm. The motive shows a classic representation of a Tiger looking at a mirror reflection of itself. Different types of surface are used to depict the mirror image - one half of the motive shows the polished relief of a Tiger on a matte background, the other half shows the matte mirror image of the Tiger on a shiny background. Characteristics such as confidnce, honor and trustworthy are attributed to the Tiger. People born in the year of the Tiger are considered to be very intuitive and adaptable. The mintage is limited to only 500 pieces worldwide. The Mirror Tiger silver coin is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
