The 2021 edition of the American Gold Eagle was minted by the US Mint from one ounce of gold in uncirculated quality. The motive features Lady Liberty walking confidently against the sun's rays. She holds a torch in her right hand and an olive branch, which symbolizes peace, in her left hand. The American bald eagle is depicted on the reverse. On the occasion of its 35th anniversary, the American Eagle will shine in a new appearance in 2021 for the first time since the coin was introduced. The new design was created by Jennie Norris and depicts an impressive close-up portrait of an eagle, surrounded by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "1OZ. FINE GOLD - 50 DOLLARS".
