This gilded silver coin is the first issue in the new Australian Nugget Series from the Perth Mint. Struck from one ounce of .9999 silver and gilded with 24-carat gold, the coin features the worldwide largest ever discovered nugget from Australia. The motive also includes the inscriptions 'AUSTRALIAN NUGGET', 'WELCOME STRANGER 1869' and '2019 1oz 9999 SILVER'. From 1986 to 1989 the "Welcome Stranger Nugget" served as motive for the gold bullion coins issued by the Perth Mint. The original was only slightly modified on this new 2019 Australian Nugget. The coin is delivered in the original box including a certificate from the Perth Mint.
