This gold coin is the first issue of the new Australian Nugget Series from the Perth Mint. The gold bullion coin was struck from one ounce of .9999 gold in uncirculated quality. The motive depicts the worldwide largest ever discovered nugget from Australia. The detailed gold nugget is framed by the inscriptions 'AUSTRALIAN NUGGET', 'WELCOME STRANGER 1869' and '2019 1oz 9999 GOLD'. The Welcome Stranger Nugget served as motive for the gold bullion coins issued by the Perth Mint from 1986 to 1989. The Perth Mint has only slightly modified the original motive on this 2019 issue. The Gold Nugget comes in a capsule.
