- The Arambourgiania glows in the dark !
The third issue of the 12-part Dino Thaler Series is dedicated to the Pterodactyl Arambourgiania Philadelphiae. The series from Austria brings the prehistoric giants back to life. The special feature of the 12-part series is that the motive is highlighted in color and printed with fluorescent colors, so that the dinosaurs glow in the dark. Each coin in the series is dedicated to a prehistoric behemoth and has a denomination of 3 Euro. The motive of the third issue depicts the Arambourgiania Philadelphiae in flight with its beak open. In the background a forested bank and a conspecific are pictured. The design is completed by the inscription "ARAMBOURGIANIA 2020". On the reverse are silhouettes of all motives in this series and the inscriptions "Republik Österreich" and "3 Euro". The Arambourgiania Philadelphiae belonged to the Azhdarchidae family and lived about 71 million years ago. With a wingspan of up to 12 meters, the prehistoric giant was one of the largest pterosaurs of its time. The first fossil was discovered in Damascus in the 1940s. The 3 Euro Dino-Thaler-Coin is delivered loose. Separately, a collector album for all 12 coins of the series can be purchased.
