The first release in the new STAR WARS™ Vehicles Series was struck by the New Zealand Mint from a 1/4 ounce of 99.99% pure gold and is dedicated to the legendary AT-AT™ Walker. The motive features a detailed depiction of the massive AT-AT™ (all-terrain armored transport) during the Battle of Hoth™ in "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back." The AT-AT Walker™ is a four-legged transport and combat vehicle that was used by the ground forces of the Galactic Empire and the First Order. Along with the Imperial Star Destroyer, the Stormtroopers and the TIE-Fighter™, it is considered one of the most recognizable symbols of the Empire's military strength and might. With a height of over 20 meters and their strong armor, these massive constructs are not only valued for their tactical advantage, but also for psychological effects. The AT-AT's impressive arsenal of weapons is composed of two heavy laser cannons under the chin, which could be fired both in rapid alternation and simultaneously, four blasters for personal defense, and a dorsal dual laser gun at the rear.
