The Great Southern Land Lepidolite Silver Coin features the great southern Australian continent in stunning Australian lepidolite. Australia is the smallest continent in the world and is home to a variety of climates, landscapes and animals. Struck by the Perth Mint from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver in proof quality, the coin incorporates an inner panel design of the great southern continent detailed in an authentic blue Australian lepidolite. The outer ring of the coin features representations of iconic Australian land animals - an Australian wedge-tailed eagle, a kookaburra, a splendid fairy wren, a bluebanded bee, a sulphur crested cockatoo and a willie wagtail. The traditional mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint is also included in the design. The reverse depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination.
