In 2019, the Austrian will issue a three-part series of commemorative coins for the 825th anniversary of the first mint in Vienna. The three Anniversary Ounces of 99.9% silver are to tell the founding myth of the "Münze Wien", the Mint of Vienna. This first issue of those three anniversary ounces is dedicated to Leopold V. In 1191 it came to quarrel over the spoils between two crusaders, Leopold V. and the English King Richard I. Lionheart. On his return to England, Richard was arrested in December 1192 and a ransom was demanded. The English people paid a large amount of silver, from which Leopold founded the Wiener Neustadt and the first mint of Vienna. This special Leopold V. silver coin makes your collection into an exciting trip back into Europe´s ancient history.
If you order 20 coins, the coins will be delivered in the original tube of the Austrian Mint.
