The first issue of the new Disney™ - Mickey™ & Friends Shaped Series is dedicated to Mickey Mouse™. The coin was struck by the New Zealand Mint from one ounce of 99.9% silver in the shape of the famous cartoon character. The motive depicts a smiling Mickey Mouse™ in a casual stance in color. He wears his typical red shorts and yellow-gold shoes. The reverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, as well as the year of issue "2021" and the denomination "TWO DOLLARS". Mickey Mouse™ is an animated character created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. Together with his friends, he is probably one of the most famous art figures in the world. Mickey Mouse™ first became famous in the first animated film with sound called "Steamboat Willie" from 1928. The shaped Mickey Mouse™ silver proof coin is delivered in the original box from the New Zealand Mint including a certificate of authenticity.
