The new gold bullion coin series from the Royal Canadian Mint is dedicated to the 125th Anniversary of the world-famous Klondike Gold Rush (1896-1899) in Canada. The first issue "Panning for Gold" was struck from one ounce of 99,999% pure gold and depicts two hands holding a gold washing pan. The motive is surrounded by the inscriptions "CANADA 2021", "FINE GOLD 99999 1 OZ OR PURE" as well as a small maple leaf engraved with the year of issue. The reverse features the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination "200 DOLLARS". The discovery in 1896 and the following gold rush in Klondike played a very important part in Canada's history. This year marks the 125th anniversary of the Gold Rush. It sealed not only Canada's fate as one of the world's leading gold producers, but also had a devastating impact on local indigenous communities and the environment. The 200 Dollar Canadian gold coin is delivered in the original blistercard from the Royal Canadian Mint.
