The gold bullion coin series from the Royal Canadian Mint is dedicated to the 125th Anniversary of the world-famous Klondike Gold Rush (1896-1899) in Canada. The fourth and final issue is titled "From Doré Bar to the Coin" and was struck from one ounce of 99.999% purest gold. The detailed motive illustrates the gold refining process and features molten gold, which is processed into a metal sheet and then cut into coin blanks made of pure gold. The motive is surrounded by the inscriptions "CANADA 2024", "99999", "FINE GOLD 1 OZ OR PUR" as well as a small maple leaf engraved with the year of issue. The reverse features the portrait of King Charles III and the denomination "200 DOLLARS".
The discovery in 1896 and the following gold rush in Klondike played a very important part in Canada's history and is now in its 125th anniversary year. It sealed not only Canada's fate as one of the world's leading gold producers, but also had a devastating impact on local indigenous communities and the environment. The 200 Dollar Canadian gold coin is delivered in the original blistercard from the Royal Canadian Mint.
