Important Note - The 2023 Britannia bullion coins were still struck with the fifth and final effigy of Queen Elizabeth II until December 1st, 2022. From December 1st, the first portrait of King Charles III is featured.

The 2023 issue of the Britannia bullion coin was struck by the Royal British Mint from a 1/10 ounce of 99.99% pure gold and features like every year the Britannia. The female figure in armor is symbolic of the country's patriotism. The motive is surrounded by the inscriptions "Britannia 2023" and "1/10 OZ 9999 FINE GOLD". The reverse features for the first time the portrait of King Charles III - the successor to Queen Elizabeth II, who died in September 2022. The Britannia Gold coin has been issued by the British Royal Mint since 1987. The gold bullion coin is delivered in a protective capsule.
