The new 2026 Somalia Elephant issue from the popular African Wildlife series was struck from a 1/4 ounce of 99.99% pure gold. The African Wildlife series from Somalia is issued with an annually changing elephant motive and is very popular with investors and collectors. The coin depicts two adult African elephants basking in the sunshine together with a zebra at a waterhole. Along the edge of the coin are the inscriptions “AFRICAN WILDLIFE” and “ELEPHANT” as well as the fineness “Au 999.9”. The reverse shows the Somali national coat of arms, which depicts a shield with an inner star supported by two leopards. Below this symbol are two traditional spears and two palm leaves, each in crossed form. The details of the country of origin, year of issue and denomination can be seen on the outer edge: “SOMALI REPUBLIC 2026 200 SHILLINGS”.
