This strictly limited gold bullion coin commemorates the 50th anniversary of mankind’s first landing on the moon. The coin was struck by the Royal Australian Mint from one ounce of 99.99% gold. »That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind«, Neil Armstrong said this famous phrase in July 1969 when he was the first person to enter the surface of the moon. The successful landing of United States spacecraft Apollo 11’s Lunar Module Eagle on the Moon has been watched by more than half a billion people on TV. The gold coin portrays a representation of the Saturn-V-rocket, an astronaut and the first footprint of an astronaut on the surface of the moon. The design includes the inscription '50th ANNIVERSARY OF THE MOON LANDING'. The gold bullion coin is delivered in a box with a certificate of authenticity from the Royal Australian Mint.
