The Royal Australian Mint dedicates the first gold bullion coin in the Australia Zoo Series to the Sumatran Tiger. He belongs to the critically endangered species - the number of tigers living in the wild is estimated at fewer than 400 worldwide. The rare species is the smallest living subspecies of the tiger and has its habitat exclusively on the island of Sumatra (Indonesia). Beside his smaller body size, the Sumatran tiger also differs from other tigers by his very strong fur base color. The motive of the coin shows the head of the majestic Sumatran tiger in close-up. He is surrounded by the inscriptions "AUSTRALIA ZOO" and "SUMATRAN TIGER" as well as the weight and fineness of the coin. On the reverse there is the Jody Clark portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. - The denomination "100 DOLLARS" and the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II" and "AUSTRALIA 2020" are also part of the coin design. The strictly limited gold bullion coin is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity from the Royal Australian Mint.
