Description
Australian Emu - 2023
1 Oz Gold - Uncirculated
- Premium Bullion Coin
- 99,99% Gold
- Mintage only 5,000 pieces
- Delivery in Capsule
The Perth Mint dedicates this premium bullion coin struck from one ounce of 99.99% gold to the Australian Emu. The motive of the coin features an adult emu watching over its three young chicks. The dry and barren landscape of the Australian outback can be seen in the background. In addition, the mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint and the inscriptions "AUSTRALIAN EMU", "2023" as well as weight and fineness are included in the design. The reverse depicts the Jody Clark effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, supplemented with the dates of her reign, as well as the denomination "100 DOLLARS" and the issuing state "AUSTRALIA".
Like ostrich and kiwi, the emu belongs to the so-called ratite family. Because they are very large and heavy, they cannot fly, but they can run enduringly and fast. Emus are at home all over Australia. These adaptable animals can reach an age of up to 20 years and feed mainly on grass, flowers, seeds, fruits and insects. In terms of height, the Australian emu is the second largest bird in the world after the ostrich. The mintage of this bullion coin is limited to only 5,000 pieces worldwide. The gold coin in uncirculated quality is delivered in a protective capsule from the Perth Mint.
