The Australian Koala gold bullion coin was struck by the Perth Mint from 1/10 oz of 99.99% pure gold. The motive of the 2023 release in the Australian Koala Coin Collection features a koala on a gum tree branch with a joey clinging to its back. Also included in the design are the inscriptions "KOALA" and "2023 1/10 oz 9999 GOLD". The reverse depicts the memorial portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, as well as the dates of her reign and the denomination.

Together with the kangaroo, the koala is one of the most famous representatives of Australian fauna and is considered one of the most popular symbols of Australia, not least because of its cute appearance. On the first view, koalas seem to be loners. Only on closer observation is it possible to see that they live in a stable social system. Each animal has its own territory. In it there are solid food and sleeping trees. Koalas eat only the nutrient-poor leaves of the eucalyptus tree. They are still very fussy.
