The new Royal Australian Mint series "Mini Money" is dedicated to the native animals of Australia. The third issue features the Emu, which is native to the whole of Australia and, like the ostrich and kiwi, is a so-called ratite. As emus are very large and heavy, they cannot fly, but they can run fast and for a long time. These adaptable animals can live up to 20 years and feed mainly on grass, flowers, seeds, fruit and insects. In terms of height, the Australian emu is the second largest bird in the world after the ostrich. The motive of the coin features an emu on its clutch of eggs. The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, supplemented with the years of her reign, the denomination "5 DOLLARS" and the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II" and "AUSTRALIA 2023". The limited gold coin was struck by the Royal Australian Mint from half a gram of 99.99% pure gold and is delivered in a presentation capsule including a certificate of authenticity.
