The Perth Mint dedicates this rectangular gold bullion coin to the Chinese Dragon. The motive depicts a stylized dragon looking at a flaming pearl, which symbolizes wisdom. In the background, the element of water, which the dragon controls, and clouds are depicted as messengers of good luck. The mintmark "P125" for the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint and the year of issue "2024" are also included in the design. The Dan Thorne portrait of King Charles III and the inscriptions "100 DOLLARS" and "1oz 9999 Au" adorn the reverse. In Chinese culture, the dragon is revered as a divine mythical creature, a symbol of power, strength, wealth, and good fortune. Dragons are also believed to be the rulers of water and weather.
