The new issue of the Australian Lunar Series III of the Perth Mint is dedicated to the Year of the Tiger. The tiger is the third animal in the Chinese zodiac calendar. The third issue of the 12-year Lunar III series features a tiger standing on a rock. The open jaw of the majestic animal reveals its impressive, razor-sharp teeth. The design also includes the Chinese character for "Tiger," the inscription "TIGER 2022" and the traditional mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint. The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and fineness. While in the African and European region the lion is considered the "king of the jungle", this status is attributed to the tiger in the Asian region - not least because of its beauty and extraordinary strength. Those born under the sign of the Tiger in 2022, 2010, 1998, 1986, 1974, 1962 and every 12th year before that are considered sensitive, emotional and thoughtful. The Tiger generally stands for courage, spiritedness and bravery and excels as a born leader privately and professionally. Tigers are very success-oriented, but can also be prone to impatience. The limited Year of the Tiger bullion coin struck from one ounce 99.99% pure gold is delivered in a protective coin capsule.
