The Canadian Maple Leaf is undoubtedly one of the world's most famous and popular coins. This 2021 issue was struck by the Royal Canadian Mint from one ounce of 99.99% pure gold with a tailored specimen finish. The mintage is limited to only 500 pieces worldwide. The Maple Leaf was first issued in 1979 and was the first bullion coin struck from 999.9 fine gold. The traditional motive of the Canadian classic - the Maple leaf - is both a national symbol and ambassador of Canada and also adorns the obverse of this gold coin. Weight and fineness are also included in the design. The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and year of issue. A special feature of this Maple Leaf gold coin is the mintmark "W", which refers to the location of the facility in Winnipeg - the capital of the Canadian province of Manitoba. The Specimen Finish applied to the coin has also been inspired by the unique architecture of the Winnipeg site. The limited Maple Leaf gold coin is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity from the Royal Canadian Mint.
