This premium bullion coin struck from 1 oz gold was issued by the country of Laos and is dedicated to the Indochinese tiger. The edition is limited to only 100 pieces worldwide. On the motive of the coin, a tiger emerges from a forest with its mouth open. The reverse shows the Bank of the Lao P.D.R. in Vientiane, which is also the central bank of Laos. The denomination 2.000 Kip, the fineness and the weight of the coin are also featured. Tigers were once widespread throughout most of the forested areas across Laos, but today they have disappeared from many parts of the country. Nam Et-Phou Louey National Protected Area is one of the few places where tigers can naturally survive outside of zoos. The coin bears the inscription "Panthera Tigris" on the left. The year of issue, 2020, is minted on the right-hand edge of the coin in addition to fineness and weight. The strictly limited gold bullion coin is delivered in the original box with a certificate of authenticity.
