This premium bullion coin struck from 1 oz gold was issued by the country of Laos and is dedicated to the Indochinese tiger. It is the second issue in the Laos Tiger Series and is limited to only 100 pieces worldwide. The motive of the 2021 coin features the head of a tiger surrounded by forest leaves. With its mouth open and teeth visible, it gives a warning sign of its presence in the forest. Also included in the design is the inscription "PANTHERA TIGRIS" as well as the year of issue, the fineness and the weight. The reverse shows the Bank of the Lao P.D.R. in Vientiane, which is also the central bank of Laos. Tigers were once widespread throughout most of the forested areas across Laos, but today they have disappeared from many parts of the country. Nam Et-Phou Louey National Protected Area is one of the few places where tigers can naturally survive outside of zoos. The coin bears the inscription "Panthera Tigris" on the left. The strictly limited gold bullion coin is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
