The Premium Bullion Coin was struck by the New Zealand Mint from one ounce of 99.99% pure gold and is dedicated to the superhero known as the "Man of Steel" - Superman™. It is the third release in the DC Comics™ Bullion Coins Series featuring the famous superheroes of the DC universe. The motive shows a depiction of Superman™ in flight in front of the Metropolis skyline. His very muscular arms are outstretched, his fists clenched and his facial expression determined. To his right is the Superman logo, which is also featured on his chest. The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions "250 DOLLARS", "ELIZABETH II", "2021" and "NIUE". Superman™ had his first appearance in 1938. Originally native to the planet Krypton and equipped with super powers, Superman™ has dedicated himself to the fight for justice on Earth. Together with the other founding members Wonder Woman™, Aquaman™, Flash™, Green Lantern™, Batman™ and Martian Manhunter™ he belongs to the Justice League™ since 1960.
