Following the great success of the first issue which marked the 25th Anniversary of the Disney™ classic "The Lion King" the New Zealand Mint has now launched the second release in the popular series. The annual series features changing motives from the successful Disney™ production (film and musical). The second issue of the Lion King series is dedicated to the shamanic mandrill Rafiki. One of his tasks is to present the newborn king to the animals in the consecrated land, which is also taken up on the motive of the coin. It shows Rafiki standing on the king rock and stretching the newborn Simba into the air. The design also includes the official Disney™ logo. The strictly limited bullion coin struck from 99.99% pure gold is delivered in a protective coin capusle.
