Struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure gold, the motive features a detailed image of a rhino against a strikingly patterned background. The Indian rhinoceros (Rhinoceros unicornis) is also known as the greater one-horned rhinoceros. Its habitat is limited to the Indian subcontinent and southern Nepal. With a shoulder height of up to 185 centimeters and a weight of more than two tons, this rhino is considered the largest among the three Asian rhino species. Like the Java rhinoceros, the Indian rhinoceros is characterized by a single horn on the nose, distinguishing it from the two-horned rhinoceroses of Africa and Asia.
