The snow leopard is a big cat that lives in the high mountains of Asia, India and Russia. It looks similar to a leopard, but has a thicker, longer and gray coat that serves as camouflage. The snow leopard inhabits rocky and rugged mountain regions at altitudes of up to 6000 meters. Like most cat species, it is a solitary animal and feeds on rodents and medium-sized ungulates. The population of the snow leopard is now highly endangered, partly due to fur hunting. The mintage is strictly limited to only 200 pieces worldwide.
