The Kangaroo is one of the most popular representatives of the Australian animal kingdom and one of the most famous landmarks of the Australian continent. This gold coin was minted by the Perth Mint from a 1/4 ounce 99.99% pure gold in proof quality. The 2022 design features a kangaroo and its cub leaping across a flat, grassy plain with hills on the horizon. The design also includes the Perth Mint's traditional mint mark "P" as well as details of the year of issue, weight and fineness. The reverse features the Jody Clark portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination.

The kangaroo (Macropodidae) is one of the most well-known representatives of the marsupials, along with the koala, and lives on the southern continent of Australia.
