The kangaroo is one of the best-known representatives of the Australian animal kingdom and is considered one of the most famous symbols of the Australian continent. Struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure gold in proof quality, the coin features the Perth Mint's classic “Red Kangaroo” motive: a leaping kangaroo surrounded by stylized sunbeams. On the left side is the mintmark “P125”, which refers to the 125th anniversary of the Australian mint. The inscription 'AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO', the year of issue '2024', the weight and the fineness are also included in the design. The reverse shows the Dan Thorne portrait of King Charles III and the denomination. This gold coin was struck in perfect proof quality and was graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) to be a flawless Proof 70 Ultra Cameo.
