The strictly limited Australian Koala High Relief Gold coin features one of Australia's most popular marsupials. Besides the kangaroo, the koala also represents the most famous symbol of Australia. The coin was struck by the Perth Mint from two ounces of 99.99% pure gold in proof quality. The motive features a very detailed depiction of a koala's head and eucalyptus leaves. Also included in the design are the Perth Mint mintmark "P", the weight, the fineness, the year of issue and the inscription "AUSTRALIAN KOALA". The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the denomination "200 DOLLARS" as well as the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II" and "AUSTRALIA".
