The motive depicts an adult koala resting on its haunches underneath a eucalyptus tree amidst a rural landscape. Besides the kangaroo, the koala represents the most famous symbol of Australia. The Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the denomination and the year of issue are depicted on the coin's reverse.
