To celebrate the 30th Anniversary in 2020, this exclusive Australian Kookaburra issue is released for the first time as a 5 Oz High Relief Gold coin. The motive of the Anniversary coin depicts a laughing Kookaburra sitting on a roof at dawn with the rising sun. The design also includes the inscriptions 'AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA', '30th ANNIVERSARY', the weight and fineness and the mint mark 'P' of the Perth Mint. On the reverse is the depiction of the Kookaburra on a tree stump, which was created by Stuart Devlin and appeared as a motive on the first Kookaburra Silver coin in 1990. Additionally there are the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II" and "AUSTRALIA", the dates "1990" and "2020", the denomination "500 DOLLARS" and the Jody Clark portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This special edition was struck by the Perth Mint from five ounces of 99.99% pure gold. With a micro-mintage of only 50 pieces worldwide, the coin is only available in very limited quantities. The rare 5 Oz Australian Kookaburra High Relief Gold coin is delivered in the original wooden box including a numbered certificate of authenticity from the Perth Mint.
