The Australian Kookaburra is one of the most famous silver coin classics, meanwhile also issued as Kookaburra gold coin. The motive features a Kookaburra sitting on a branch in its natural habitat. Below it, a branch with leaves is visible. The inscription "AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA", the traditional mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint as well as the year of issue, weight and fineness are included in the design. The reverse shows the Jody Clark effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination. The Kookaburra is the largest member of the kingfisher family and the national bird of Australia. It is also called "laughing Hans" in German. It owes this name to its loud call, which is comparable to human laughter, and which it prefers to sound in the early morning and late evening. The mintage is strictly limited to only 50 pieces worldwide.
