The motive of the gold coin features a magnificent Wedge-Tailed eagle swooping on its prey in the midst of a hunt. In addition the inscription "Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle", the year of issue, the weight, the fineness and the traditional Mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint are included in the design. The reverse shows the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination. The Wedge-Tailed eagle is one of the biggest eagles in the world. His impressive wings have a wingspan of up to 2.7 meters.
