The 2025 issue of the Wedge-Tailed Eagle was struck by the Perth Mint from an impressive 5 ounces of 99.99% pure gold in proof quality. The rose gold plated motive of the Ultra High Relief gold coin depicts a Wedge-Tailed eagle - Australia's largest bird of prey - sitting on the ground with wings outstretched. The design is framed by the inscriptions "AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE" and "2025 5oz 9999 GOLD". The traditional mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint is also included in the design. In addition to the motive, the outer edge of the coin has also been plated with rose gold, thus giving this coin a very unique look. The reverse features the portrait of King Charles III and the denomination.

The Wedge-Tailed eagle is one of the biggest eagles in the world. Its wings measure a wingspan of up to 2.7 meters. The impressive animal is mostly native to Australia, Tasmania and southern Papua New Guinea and feeds mainly on reptiles and small mammals.
