The first issue of the new Australian Lunar Series III is dedicated to the Year of the Mouse 2020. The coin was struck by the Perth Mint from one ounce of 99.99% pure gold in proof quality. The motive features a colorized image of a mouse foraging on husks of corn. Also included in the design are the traditional Mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint, the inscription "MOUSE 2020" and the Chinese sign for mouse. The reverse depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as well as the fineness and the denomination. The mouse is the first of 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac calender. The strictly limited Lunar III - Year of the Mouse gold coin in color is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity from the Perth Mint.
