The new edition of the Australian Lunar Series III of the Perth Mint is dedicated to the Year of the Ox. Following the mouse, the Ox is the second animal in the Chinese Zodiac calendar. The second release in the 12-year Lunar III Series was struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure gold and features an image of a powerful ox between bamboo stems. Also included in the design are the Chinese character for "Ox", the inscription "OX 2021" and the traditional mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint. The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the denomination and the fineness. The mintage is limited to only 188 pieces worldwide.
