Struck by the Perth Mint from one ounce of 99.99% pure gold, the motive depicts a majestic dragon. According to Chinese mythology, the dragon is a divine being and a strong symbol of power, strength, wealth and luck. The legendary mythical creature is traditionally depicted chasing a flaming pearl, which is a metaphor for wisdom and enlightenment. The design also includes the year of issue, weight and fineness. The reverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination “100 DOLLARS”.
