The coin from the Chinese Mythical Creatures Series was struck by the Perth Mint from one ounce of 99.99% pure gold and depicts a Dragon chasing a flaming pearl. The reverse features the Jody Clark effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, the year of issue 2021, the denomination "100 DOLLARS" and the traditional mint mark "P" of the Perth Mint. According to Chinese mythology, the dragon is a divine being and a strong symbol of power, strength, wealth and luck. The legendary mythical creature is traditionally depicted as chasing a flaming pearl, which is a metaphor for wisdom and enlightenment. The dragon's determination to capture the pearl is evident in its open mouth, large eyes and extended claws. The mintage is strictly limited to only 188 pieces worldwide.
