The Australian Sovereign gold coin set was struck by the Perth Mint from 91.67% gold in proof quality. The set includes the Australian Sovereign - 7.98 grams of gold, the Half Sovereign - 3.99 grams of gold and the Quarter Sovereign - 1.99 grams of gold - from the year 2025. The coins honor the Sovereign as the first minted coin in the Perth Mint's permanent gold display. The motive of all three coins features a depiction of St. George, a Roman guardian and Christian martyr who, according to tradition, saved a princess from a dragon and has since become a symbolic embodiment of courage and the victory of good over evil. The design also includes the inscription “AUSTRALIA”, the year of issue “2025” and the Perth Mint's mintmark “P”. The reverse shows the Dan Thorne portrait of King Charles III and the respective denomination. The limited Australian Sovereign gold proof coin set is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity.
