What was made of gold back then still is. The sixth edition is dedicated to golden China and thus travels into culture and economy. Gold was already being used for ritual objects and jewelry in the ancient Chinese dynasty of the Shang (approx. 1600-1046 BC). The skill of goldsmiths reached an exceptionally high level in the following dynasties, such as the Zhou (1046-256 BC), Han (206 BC - 220 AD) and especially during the Tang dynasty (618-907 AD). Golden artifacts from these eras, including jewelry, coins and ritual objects, testify to the importance of gold in Chinese culture and economy.
