The Canadian Maple Leaf is one of the best-known and most popular gold coins in the world. With the Maple Leaf - Vivid Toning release, the Royal Canadian Mint presents an exceptionally colorful interpretation of Canada’s famous national symbol. Struck from 1 Oz of 99.99% pure gold in Reverse Proof quality, the coin features a single maple leaf rendered in impressive Ultra High Relief. The maximum relief height of 1.8 mm gives the design a particularly sculptural and highly detailed appearance.

Designed by Walter Ott, the maple leaf has been enhanced with the innovative Vivid Toning Effect. Light passes through the vibrant layers of colour, is reflected by the polished gold relief and creates an iridescent play of color with a distinctive foil-like finish. The warm shades of red, pink and copper form a striking contrast to the coin’s golden gleam and evoke sunlight filtering through the canopy of a Canadian forest on a clear autumn day. A radiating pattern of small maple leaves in the background further enhances the luminous effect, making the central motive appear to glow from within. The design is complemented by the inscriptions “CANADA”, “FINE GOLD 1 OZ OR PUR” and the purity mark “9999”. The reverse features the effigy of King Charles III, designed by Steven Rosati, together with the denomination of 200 dollars and the year of issue 2026.
