This coin set consists of two commemorative coins, each minted from 1 ounce of silver and a 1/4 ounce of gold. The set was issued in honor of the 120th birthday of Xu Beihong. The gold coin was colorized and features Red Autumn Leaves and Magpies. The silver coin shows the harmony of the two immortals. Xu Beihong (1895-1953) is considered one of the most influential Chinese artists and the first 20th century Chinese painter to use Western style elements in his works. He was born in 1895 to a poor family in Yixing (Jiangsu Province) and learned traditional Chinese painting from his father, a self-taught artist. The delivery of the limited commemorative coin set is delivered in the original wooden box including a certificate of authenticity.
