- Seventh issue in the Prehistoric Life II Series
- 99.99% pure Gold

The seventh issue in the Prehistoric Life II series from the Congo is dedicated to the Plateosaurus. The motive of the coin struck from 0.5 gram of 99.99% pure gold depicts a Plateosaurus in a prehistoric landscape, with further animals of its species visible in the background. Above the scene, the inscriptions "PREHISTORIC LIFE", "PLATEOSAURUS", "217 - 201 MIO YEARS BC", and the year of issue 2026 are displayed. The reverse shows the coat of arms of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, along with the weight, fineness, and denomination.
The Plateosaurus was a herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Triassic period approximately 217 to 201 million years ago. It was one of the early long-necked dinosaurs and, depending on its age and species, reached a length of several meters. Its characteristic features included a comparatively small head, a long neck, powerful hind legs, and a long tail. Plateosaurus fossils have mainly been found in Europe, including numerous significant discoveries in Germany. It was probably able to move both on all fours and, at times, on its hind legs. The limited Plateosaurus 0.5 gram gold proof coin is delivered in a protective capsule.
