Elizabeth II was born on April 21, 1926, as Elizabeth Alexandra Mary of the House of Windsor in London. She served as constitutional monarch of 16 sovereign states known as the Commonwealth realms, Head of the Commonwealth of Nations, and Supreme Governor of the Church of England. Queen Elizabeth II was the longest-reigning monarch in British history and the first ever to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee.
