The Monnaie de Paris dedicates the series Masterpieces of Museums to the great works of art that are exhibited or have been created in France. This rectangular commemorative coin struck from a 1/4 Ounce of gold has been issued in honor of the Japanese artist Utamaro Kitagawa (1753 - 1806) and his work Young Woman Blowing a Glass Pipe. The famous woodblock print was created in 1794 and is part of the series "Ten Classes of Women's Physiognomy", which is dated to the period between 1753 and 1806 and emphasizes the various personality traits of the artist's models. The motive of the 50 euro gold coin faithfully reproduces the painting and additionally shows the dome of the library of the Guimet Museum. The name of the work in French, the name of the artist and the year of issue 2023 complete the design. The reverse of the coin features different views of French museums, as well as the inscription "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" and the denomination "50 EURO". The limited commemorative gold coin is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
