The eight issue of the Harry Potter™ Classic Series is dedicated to the most important ball in the wizarding sport of Quidditch - the Golden Snitch™. The coin was struck by the New Zealand Mint from a 1/4 ounce of 99.99% gold. The motive features the golden snitch with outstretched wings in the original golden color. Harry Potter's jersey number "07" and his name "H. Potter" are engraved in the background. The reverse shows the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Quidditch is one of the most popular sports in the wizarding world and is also played at Hogwarts™ School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Seven players per team compete on flying brooms and try to score points through the three posted goals. In Quidditch, there are a total of three types of balls: the Quaffle, the Bludger and the Golden Snitch. The quaffle is the only ball that earns points for teams by scoring a goal. The bludger is an enchanted iron ball that attacks the players. However, the most important ball is the golden snitch. It is about 4 cm tall and so enchanted, that it flies around quickly and can hide himself easily from the players. The team of the seeker who manages to catch the golden snitch first wins the game and ends the match. In his first Quidditch game, Harry catches the snitch in an unusual way, not with his hand, but with his mouth.
