The design depicts the dark ruler of Mordor™. The One Ring is in the foreground of the motive. The ring was forged by Sauron™ in the fire of Mount Doom and possessed the power to corrupt its wearer and bring him to his doom. The ring poem engraved on the ring in Elvish embossing is also clearly visible. The reverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the denomination and the year of issue.
