The thirteenth release of the Star Wars Classics series features the tyrannical Emperor Palpatine known from the movie "Star Wars - The Return of the Jedi". The coin was minted by the New Zealand Mint of a 1/4 ounce of 99,9% pure gold in proof quality. The mintage is limited to only 1,000 pieces worldwide. Palpatine, also known as Darth Sidious™, was Senator of the planet Naboo, Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic and later Emperor of the Galactic Empire. His unstoppable rise to power, the ensuing disruption of the Galactic Republic and the dissolution of the Jedi Order led the galaxy into a decade-long darkness. Until his physical death during the Battle of Endor, he was the most powerful man in the galaxy. The gold coin is delivered in a wooden case including a certificate of authenticity.
